SUMMER 2025 GIVING CAMPAIGN
One dollar donated by you = One pound diverted by us
We need your help to quickly increase capacity!
The community has spoken! You want to recycle and reuse materials more than ever. In fact, you smashed our projection of a 15% increase in 2025 — we are on target to divert 70% more waste this year than in 2024! With this incredible growth comes a challenge: we urgently need resources to manage the record-breaking amount of materials coming through our doors. Without additional support, we risk slowing down services and missing opportunities to keep valuable resources out of landfills. Below, you are able to learn more about the impact we are making together and how you can help.
The increasing impact — and demand.
We are on pace to process 700,000 pounds of material in 2025 — nearly as much waste as 2023 and 2024 combined! This is such an amazing accomplishment by our community, volunteers, and staff. Unfortunately, with this growth comes real strain. Processing the items we accept is time-intensive and costly, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with demand for staffing and space.
Despite working efficiently and leaning on an incredible team of 70+ volunteers each week, the sheer volume has exceeded our capacity — and we’ve been required to make the difficult decision to periodically close to the public in order to process the current inventory of materials.
These closures impact our operations, the neighbors who rely on us as their drop-off option, and our entire community that trusts us to keep materials out of the landfill.
2025 Waste Diversion Increase
What we need.
With the exponential increase in customers and material in 2025, our staff and space are absolutely stretched. We require funding to increase capacity to meet the community’s demands which entails more hours and more space allocated to the sorting, processing, and shipping of diverted waste. Without that increased capacity, these periodic closures to manage inventory will continue. The numbers below paint a picture of the impact when we remain open:
We project to have 50,000 visits from residents all over the tri-state in 2025!
The Hub collects 4,000 pounds of material on Residential Drop-off Days!
We serve nearly one customer every minute on Residential Drop-off Days!
We collect 20,000 flexible plastic bags/wrappers at every Residential Drop-off Day!
What additional funds will support.
Funding will be used in a variety of ways, including:
• Residential Drop-offs: Donations will help us properly staff and secure space for three residential drop-off days at the Hub each week.
• Storage: With a 70% increase in materials, additional funds will help us secure more space to accommodate the influx of materials.
• Reuse Shop: You assistance will help staff and maintain our Hub Shop where items are donated for reuse and kept out of the landfill.
• Processing: Funding will allow the Hub to sort and process the community’s materials and secure the most-environmentally responsible downstream partners for your waste. It will also support internal programs that we utilize to process materials, such as the Tinker Team — which fixes unwanted electronic items and donates them to local families in need.
How you can help.
Donate to the Hub today! We have opportunities for residents and companies to help us increase capacity to support the rising demands of our community! Remember, for every dollar donated, we divert one pound of waste!
